The CATTRAC Porter Race Cars team clinches championship at SCORE Baja 1000
The CATTRAC Porter Race Cars team, piloted by the team of Billy and Dave Gasper, has clinched the 2007 Class 1 overall SCORE points championship. Finishing the famed SCORE Baja 1000 with a strong 10th overall and 5th in class, the team has battled through a field near 40 cars during the six races that comprise the SCORE series. Billy and Dave Gasper have won points championships twice prior, and have both won the Baja 1000 twice. Crew chief and Porter Race Cars founder, Danny Porter has won points championships and won the Baja 1000 twice as a driver and twice as crew chief for Rod Muller.
“This means a lot to us both as racers and as fabricators. We race what we build. This has been a tough win for us, we had a lot of great competition throughout the year at every race. This is our first year for my brother and I racing in Class 1 and we love it!” stated the elated Billy Gasper.
When asked about the race Billy replied, “ It was no walk in the park. We rolled just outside of the Bay of LA and it took Scott a while to get the car righted with no help. We had a few flat tires, and lighting became a big factor between the roll and all the mud. I know at one point we were back in 9th, but the car ran great, we could have done another 1300 miles! We didn’t know where we stood until after we crossed the line. I drove as fast as I could the last part of the race. We won by one point!”
Crew chief Danny Porter commented; “I knew we could do it. We had the right team, equipment, and drivers. I especially want thank CATTRAC and all of our sponsors, we couldn’t have done it without them.”

CATTRAC / Porter Race Cars team races into the SCORE Class 1 points lead
Through a rough and rocky season with many top competitors, the Gasper Brothers and their CATTRAC / Porter Class 1 car remain focused and strong. The SCORE Class 1 race division is one of the most competitive classes, with close to 40 Class 1 teams starting in a single race. The teams race for the finish line trying to earn a top finish, as well as earn points for finishing each race within the designated finishing time limit. Both Billy and Dave Gasper drive the CATTRAC / Porter Class 1 car in the 2007 SCORE off-road series. The CATTRAC / Porter Race Cars team has secured the lead and is currently ranked 1st for the 2007 SCORE points championship, in the Class 1 division.
The Gasper Brothers, along with the entire CATTRAC / Porter Race Cars team have their sights set on winning the 2007 SCORE points championship, as well as possibly securing a win at their next race, the world famous Baja 1000. Although both brothers are anxious to get their hands on the 2007 SCORE points championship, this will not be a first for either. Billy and Dave Gasper have secured the points championship twice prior, and have both won the Baja 1000 twice. In the same camp, crew chief and Porter founder, Danny Porter has won the points championship once, as well as won the Baja 1000 twice as a driver and twice as crew chief for Rod Muller. "We build the best cars, and we want to prove it by racing and winning!" stated Danny Porter.
The CATTRAC / Porter Race Cars team would like to thank their sponsors and support crew as well as all those who have helped make their accomplishments possible.
Be sure to check out the CATTRAC / Porter Race Car at their next race, the 2007 SCORE Baja 1000, November 11 - 16 in Baja Mexico.

2007 SNORE Midnight 250
Fresh out the shop and onto the race course, another Porter Race Car makes the win!
Bill Witt and Rick Ellison win first in class at the 2007 SNORE Midnight 250 in their new Porter built class 1 car. Despite having some downtime with a flat tire and a broken light bar, Ellison managed to claim the win in the Class 1 group making the finish in 5:00:06.
The new Porter class 1 car was finished just in time for Witt and Ellison to premiere it at the 2007 Baja 500. Unfortunately, Rick Ellison was not able to drive the new car in the Baja 500 due to an injury during pre-running. Despite the team being one man down, Bill Witt managed to take the brand new PRC-1 to the finish, coming in at a respectable 15th in class.

Quote by Dave Gasper, Co-driver:
"It was a good race. We got hung up at the end of the race for the last 30 miles – pretty much the same track as before except for the new section. It was pretty tight and technical and the silt bed was being beat up by the drivers. We had two flat tires but we weren’t down very long."
